  • Yesterday.

Yesterday was an easy go lucky sort of day. Nothing special and sometimes it's just nice to get out and walk alone the beach.
I will start out with a question. Can anyone guess what this is?

Every now and then, when you dig a target just to find out what the heck it is, something different pops out. I believe this is a cigaret or cigar tax stamp. https://www.google.ca/search?q=cigar...2F%3B236%3B139
I have several paper ones but this one is foil. 8 for 10 cents.

Can anyone explain how this would work other than by drip feed? I can see no way to pressurize this, or is it for pressure release?

I stepped on some interesting bottles while tramping through the mud. Actually that is the best way to bottle hunt in this spot. You feel for them with your feet while you walk.
The Hires Root beer bottle on the left is dated 1937 and the green tinged beer "type" bottle on the left struck me as odd because it still had the cork in the top. It is marked with a number 2 on the bottom.

Let me know if your guesses were correct on the mystery item.
I have found several before and knew exactly what it was before cracking it open.

sometimes they come out nice and sometime they break.

It is an old spark plug. here are a few that I have found.

And I found out what the mystery item is. :woohoo:
"The brass valve is an old engine primer petcock..When starting the old antique gas engines, you filled that cup on top with gas and opened the valve and closed it again. Then cranked the hand crank and hopefully they fired."
