  • May the force be with you.

On the 12th I while was hunting in my private playground I looked up to see a flashing red and black object flying over my head.
This had been tossed over a bush and into the Gorge by someone who probably didn't even know that I was there.

And so in keeping with a children's theme  A tisket a tasket this was in my basket.

Most of it ended up in the brass bucket or in the ever growing spoon collection. And yes that is another pom pom shell casing.

I have found dozens of these brass grommets.

But I finally understand where they were being used. http://www.google.ca/patents/US304249

This one is a head scratcher.

The wire leading off the top is copper but the coiled wire is not, and it's too heavy to be aluminum.

This wine bottle cork may not be very old.

But it has found a home on one of my bottles anyways.

Out of the mess of bottles there was one keeper on Sunday.

      It reads H J Heinz.

Yesterday I hit the water again And although the finds were fewer.

It was still a fun day in the water.
This one was a bitter sweet find. From the fresh break it probably broke when I pulled it out while chasing a signal. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sozodont

Bitter sweet because the silver 50 came out at the same time.

The pocket knife had me excited for a while.

I thought for sure that it was hallmarked.

It is an advertising pocket knife.

Here are the silver coins from yesterday.

And the nickels are a pair of 1906 V nickles.

I did have one find yesterday that I did not bring home. This aluminum sign was at least 50' out in the water. How it got there is anyone's guess. If it had been porcelain you bet I would have found someway to get it home.

I left it by the garbage cans for the parks department people to deal with.
