  • Almost Gold.

I hit the Gorge again today for around 2 1/2hrs and that is about the max time I can get in this area.
I am working a narrow section and the tide is relentless, if it's not going it's coming. Here is a picture I took just before getting into the water just upstream from here.

I don't have a shot of this at full low tide but this 1906 picture should show what the height difference is.
PS this is what caused those canoers to dump their canoe last week.

Before I get into today's finds I have an old bullet to show from last nights park hunt. The unfired is from today and it's a 32. Click image for larger version

The pennies won but you can bet I was looking for the 32 special.

This evening I went for another hour and a half stroll with the magic walking stick and did another hunt the grunt.
With the sensitivity set at 5 anything that squeaks, squawks, grunts or growns gets probed with the pinpointer.
If the pinpointer picks it up it comes out.

Ron you have no idea how much fun it is. I just wish that I didn't have to wait for the tide. As you can possibly tell from the first 2 pics. If the tide is not going out it's rushing in. Click image for larger version

Jess about the only metals not greatly affected by salt water are gold and brass and lead. Everything else rots away.
