On Saturday the Gorge canoe club was replacing their floating dock boards.
And asked if I would mind checking around the area for any items lost by members while getting in and out of the boats.
Wading in muck up to your knees is not an easy task and no personal items were recovered.
However another sifter full of crap was removed.
Feeling unsatisfied with my results I headed out to return all of the bottles and cans that had been brought out of the gorge over the last three days.
And did an old fashioned clad hunt to finish off the day.
The $10.40 was from the recycled bottles and cans And this is the part that I was referring to in the title.
Yesterdays and today's trash haul. This one I thought was trash also but it still powers up.
It's locked so I can't call the last number to get them to let the owner know that it has been found.
If an add for a lost phone shows up I will see if it can be returned. So this mornings hunt was not as productive clad wise only $4.31 which included 101 pennies. But some interesting items show up in the pouch.
Take the pin on the left. It doesn't look like much but what it represents is a very big deal.

At one point while cleaning up a nasty penny spill of more than 60 pennies,
this little surprise happened to be less than 2 inches down. And I found it simply by searching the grass with the pinpointer while on my knee. Another on that tickled my fancy today was this. Here they are all nice and clean.
