  • Setting goals.

I personally set goals every time I go out.
My first goal is to find at least one keeper a day.
Back to that in a bit. First the trash.
Since this is not the first time over this particular spot there was not to much. Click image for larger version

And the recyclables. Also not a lot. Click image for larger version

It is hard to stay motivated through a long hunt when there are so few targets.
These are the pennies and clad from 6 1/2 hours of hunting on Saturday.

But if I stick with it sometimes the keepers do pop up.
This was the first of the day. Click image for larger version

there was a second goal to try for.
I was so close to another goal that I could taste it.
Then came this. Click image for larger version

Last year I had set a goal of 150 silver coins and came up one short. Click image for larger version

This year the goal of 150 was surpassed quite a while ago.
And a new goal had to be set.
And this ugly little coin is number 200 for the year. Click image for larger version

By this point in the day I was getting tired and started back to the car.
And this is when I found my one real disappointment of the day.
If this had come out whole it would have been a nice little keeper.

And luckily for me I always swing right back to the car.
Battery almost as tired as me the CTX still picked out one last keeper for the day.
At first I thought that it was a copper cotter pin until the whole thing was uncovered. Click image for larger version

Bruce, those are some nice coins and then top it off with Jewelry and a couple of goals met. Nice day, I'd say.

Hey Old Man, That was a great hunt. If you keep digging all that silver we'll have to change you nic to "Silver Bearded Marmot"

Looks like a very productive hunt, really like to see all the coins, especially like that 1881 nickel/1903 Barber!
