That is what mother nature was saying on Sunday.
Every single time I headed to the door a new rain squall came through.
Finally around noon I had had enough and headed out anyways.
So I hunted under the trees while it rained and then hit the open grass after it passed.
At one point the rain was coming down sideways in bright sunshine and there was a big bright rainbow in the sky and the same time.
I only got in 4 hours but as always there is stuff to be found.
The trash. And the clad for the day.
A couple of old spoons. And two old suspender buckles. The recyclable pile had some interesting tidbits.
I find a lot of the older Martini-Henry 557/450 shell casings.
In fact there are two in this picture.
The squashed one is what I find most often. But this one is a first for me. http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/30026518 The other curious item in the recyclables is at the bottom right.
It was all squashed and mangled coming out of the ground.
It had the appearance of an old light bulb base.
But the opaque center is actually a mica lens.
