  • A decent ending to a dismal week.

Last week had it's ups and downs.
At the beginning Monday was a no go.
The ground was to hard from our short cold spell.
And I gave up after only four holes.
I didn't like the way that the plugs would not fit properly back in place.
Tuesday was a short day due to bad weather setting in.
It had warmed up over night so the ground was diggable.
    The trash was light.

And I did manage one keeper.
When it comes out of the ground looking like this you automatically know it is nonmagnetic.

Wednesday was the first of two storms that blew through the west coast.
Thursday was also a short day.

Friday and Saturday were also basically no goes. As the second storm of the week passed through.
50mph winds and horizontal rain are not my cup of tea.
So when Sunday dawned bright and clear it was green flag all of the way.
A ton of trash was cleaned up.

And from the recycle pile you can get the idea that I have been high toning it recently.

At the end of six hours of deep knee bends the rain had just started.
I had promised myself to dig one more really good signal when this came in at the base of a tree.
      Less than three inches down.
Little nickle #26 for the year.

Thank you Matt. I take great care to make sure that any place I have been is better than it was when I got there.

Never worry. This old bear does not hibernate. I just wait until I have something worthy of posting.

More great finds from the King of Metal Detecting. Have you kept a rolling face value total of all the coins you have found since you first started?

Well that is impressive. I apologize though, I should have worded that to be less invasive of your personal business. I was just curious if you were keeping up with it. You really are a great spokesman or representative for the hobby and I guarantee your hobby is far better for your health than flint knapping is to mine. I mean seriously friends, why did they have to put the word knapping (napping) into the title of my hobby?

Bobby don't apologize for asking any question about my detecting or my finds. I am an open book as far as what I find. I also do an annual wrap up at the end of each season for anyone who wants to see the Readers digest version of my year. This is a link to last years wrap up. http://forums.arrowheads.com/forum/o...ear-end-review

Everett I am closing in on 500 silver coins that I have found in the three years that I have been detecting. I have lost track of the number of old pennies.
But you are right my friend the collection is getting to be something worth showing off. Thank you.
