  • Slim pickings.

For 2 days (Wednesday & Thursday) I went back to the firing line and I think that I can finally put this one area to rest now.
There is very little left other than brass.
And I don't want to dig the place up chasing cartridge shells. Click image for larger version

I don't know when they started using steel backing for buttons but this copper button is not a recent drop.
It is the second one like this that I have found in the same area. Click image for larger version

On Friday I decided to change venues and headed back to hobo hill.
You guessed it. A ton of trash came out of there again. Click image for larger version

I don't know why but I have never had any luck with old coppers with patina.
They look nice out of the ground. Click image for larger version

Nice finds Bruce. The 1905 Indian Head penny sure cleaned up nice.

Bobby that one was super easy. It came out of the ground in very nice condition.
