Slim pickings.

For 2 days (Wednesday & Thursday) I went back to the firing line and I think that I can finally put this one area to rest now.
There is very little left other than brass.
And I don't want to dig the place up chasing cartridge shells.
There were a few decent, if not old, finds to be made though.



I don't know when they started using steel backing for buttons but this copper button is not a recent drop.
It is the second one like this that I have found in the same area.

One of these days I will find the stone still attached.

On Friday I decided to change venues and headed back to hobo hill.
You guessed it. A ton of trash came out of there again. And gas was finally paid for. Luckily once the surface crap was removed some nicer finds were made.

I don't know why but I have never had any luck with old coppers with patina.
They look nice out of the ground. But no amount of cleaning. Or in this case no cleaning.
Can make them look good once they dry out. OH well on to the next one.

Nice finds Bruce. The 1905 Indian Head penny sure cleaned up nice.

Bobby that one was super easy. It came out of the ground in very nice condition.
