It takes time to write a decent post.
So sit back, kick your feet up and enjoy.
This one will be be-bopping back and forth between the last two days of detecting.

I had a four slamming hits yesterday.
One a surprise and one a let down and the other two are head scratchers.
This one was unexpected up here in Canada. Click image for larger version

This was another of those head scratchers.
I suppose that it could be an early tree tag.
The ones the city uses these days are aluminum and machine stamped. Click image for larger version

As most of you may remember I just had my car in for repairs.
So I have kept the 5 X 10 Coiltek coil on the CTX.
Of all of my 4 coils that one is great for hunting Canadian clad. Click image for larger version

Now whenever I move into a new to me section of any park the trash is overwhelming.
I may have to start limiting myself to a 2 pouch limit on a days digs. Click image for larger version

The first keeper on Saturday came while I was in the middle of harvesting a great crop of fresh aluminum twist tops.
    God I hate those suckers.
But sometimes the same signal is a keeper. Click image for larger version

OK time now for Sunday's find of the day.
Remember when I said that I was primarily doing a clad hunt?
Well I had to duck into a bush to release a couple of cups of coffee.
Coffee is like beer. You don't buy it you rent it.
Well when I came back into the world I was swinging over an area that I had hit last year with the big 17" coil.
And I got an extremely mixed up signal.
I would have normally passed it up if I had not been clad hunting.
It was a steel penny and a rusty quarter.
But the Coiltek coil allowed me to recognize that it had potential.
I can't say it often enough.
You have got to remove the surface trash to find the real goodies where I hunt.
This was three inches down. Click image for larger version

And after removing them the pinpointer was still picking something up lower down.
Not bad for doing a little park cleaning EH.
The brass snap is what I think is the last remnants of the coin purse. Click image for larger version

The folding item with the lens is a "linen tester" Bruce.

They were used to count the warp and weft threads in woven cloth (or garments made from cloth) within a calibrated area as a measure of quality.

ID:	196849 What is throwing me off of it being the same is the curved face plate. I can see no evidence of stress that would have caused the curvature. And there are no markings for measurement on this one either.

I would guess that the aperture itself represents a standard "field of view" used in the trade and the curvature of the plate is so that it can be used more easily for cloth "on the roll" in bulk consignments without having to pull the roll out of the consignment and unravel it.

The Kinder Brothers (Jack Jr. and Garry) are business consultants, making their living by offering motivational training for sales and marketing personnel. The company hosts the kind of “razzamatazz” personal training many employees hate being sent on, regarding it as cruel punishment and resulting in a pile of work accumulating on their desks while they have been away on the course. Anyone who has worked in these areas will know the kind of thing. The trainer starts off with telling you “There is no ‘I’ in ‘team’”…. and you end up building a model of the Golden Gate Bridge out of paper cups with your colleagues while wearing blindfolds. Probably they give you one of those “medals” too.

It has a couple of their favourite motivational quotes on it. “If it is to be, it is up to me” is attributed to William H. Johnsen and “do it now” is attributed to Clement Stone. They use other quotes too, such as “a commitment made is a debt unpaid” and “the best is yet to be.”

You could be right about it being a tool tag.
