  • Walk don't run.

Yesterday I decided to go back to a particular part of a park where I have found some nice older coins before.
And this time I decided to not wonder around like a drunken sailor.
I also made sure to overlap each and every swing while griding the area I was working.
I spent 8 hours swinging the 17"coil around and it's crazy how much you can miss if you are not careful.
The bottles and cans are obviously new but everything else had to be dug. Click image for larger version

And I just found out that South African coins are also steel core clad coins. Click image for larger version

Here's a few that I have "stashed" away.
I hope that I can find them when I start to go blind. Click image for larger version

Thanks Bruce, I have missed the Forum and following members posts such as yours quite a bit but for the past month or so I have been on a very heavy overtime schedule at work and I expect it to last for about another month. I am so tired and run down that I took a vacation day yesterday just to sleep. I have been working long runs of 13 to 14 hour night shifts and it is catching up with me. I haven't done any flint knapping except for that last knife that I posted and I don't use the computer much but when things settle down again, I will be back like I was before. Good luck with your metal detecting. Hope you find some gold.

How did my hash pipe that I lost in 1979 at the Peter Frampton concert in DC wind up in that park?
