I found this metal detecting my usual site on Monday... I'm taking Bruce's advice to start a new post for new finds from the same area, instead of adding to the end of the original post. It's an 1865 two cent piece... this one also has that crazy blue/green patina that seems to be common for the coppers there. It's not in the best shape, but it's better than a stick in the eye! Here ya go!

This is what happens to 99% of my old coppers.
As found. I have to get the pic as they come out of the hole. When they dry out they lose almost all of the detail.
Just a moderate amount of cleaning and this is what I am left with.
Fertilizer and acidic soil is a copper killer.Bruce
