It is hard for me to decide whether the eyeball finds or the metal detecting finds are the coolest this time around.
Before I get into showing the finds from the last three trips to the beach check out this short video.
I think that it will give you an idea of why I keep going back to this one spot.
For many years the Gorge was the primary place people in the Greater Victoria area did their swimming. There were several bath houses. At Curtis Point the...

After the last three days of wandering up and down the beach I had pulled 18 pounds of recyclables out.
9 pounds of brass, 6 pounds of lead and 3 pounds of copper. Click image for larger version

What did make it home was a nice old bottle.
    George Morrison, druggist Victoria BC.
I am not sure if they kept using the bottles after his death in 1892
So the dating of this bottle is up in the air. http://www.ourgenealogy.ca/ps10/ps10_291.html

Out of that 18 pounds of stuff there was only really one item that was worth keeping.
This pocket knife is cool and I wish that it had been intact.
The figure head is most likely Philippe Pétain
    A WW1 French hero. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippe_P%C3%A9tain
The wording under his portrait translates to Nations Allied
And the right side reads as Republique Francais. Click image for larger version

I will take a pipe any day. Especially an eyeball one.

ID:	255875 It is hard to tell from pictures but those footsteps are between 3 and 4 inches deep. The ooze was more than ankle deep in this spot today. Click image for larger version

watching the video, there should be a bunch of stuff there, but there is no telling how deep it is in that muddy beach.

You are on a pipe roll. Neat video, that was one popular spot. I like the old bottles and that mud looks like it would sap the energy right out of ya.

Once you are in the water the mud is much worse. There are stretches where I sink up to my knees in mud if I stay in one place to long.
