  • Dry, drier, driest!!!

As of today Victoria has tied the all time driest stretch ever recorded.
53 days without a lick of rain and counting.
The weather reports suggest that we may get showers on Sunday (40% chance but that is being downgraded daily)
This photo was taken a few weeks back and I have not been back since to see how bad it has gotten since then. Click image for larger version

Normally a dip in the puddle would be in order.
However some idiot decided to empty his RV tank into a storm drain. Click image for larger version

I tried one of the local lakes and for 3 hours spent up to my chest the haul was a total of 2 quarters, 1 dime and 4 fishing weights.
    I needed my fix.
    Tot lots was the answer.
    Easy digging for sure.
Drive around, see a tot lot, pull over and swing away for 15min to half an hour then move on to the next one.
This is what 3 hours total time out looked like.
If only I could find a use for used bobby pins I would be rich.
By the way that hinge with the screws WAS in a tot lot. Click image for larger version

Kids lose lots of costume jewelry.
Mommy and daddy on the other hand lose very little jewelry there. Click image for larger version

The same can't be said for the coins that they drop.

None of them were deep and only required popping out. Click image for larger version

ID:	259496 This one is confusing.
It rang up in the foil/ gold range on the CTX.
It is not heavy enough for gold (And obviously the colour is wrong) And yet it is too heavy to be aluminum.
    This one is a honker.
The knurls on the mandrel are the only thing keeping it from sliding all the way off. Click image for larger version

I have done some gold panning in the past Everett. And I have been invited up to Atlin BC https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlin,_British_Columbia
By a resident there who has spent hours watching me detect down here. But my detectors are not the best for gold hunting. That takes some very specialized equipment to do successfully.
    Working...
