  • Three variations.

Three variations of cleaning that is.
Basically I only clean as much as is necessary.
For obvious reasons the trash does not get any cleaning at all.
    That would be ridiculous.
Anything pulled from the ground that is headed into the recycle bins and clad does not need to be shiny.
It just needs to be clean.
Whenever I am cleaning rifle brass and clad I simply toss the lot into the tumbler with water and soap.
That's right no gravel. Hey it works.
Three hours of bashing and crashing into each other knocks off enough crud for me and the bank. Click image for larger version

By the way that wrist watch deserves special recognition.
I can't prove it, however this was likely a gift to a soldier. Click image for larger version

I did not add vinegar to this mix because none of them needed deep cleaning.
That and I do like the contrasting light and dark. Click image for larger version

I needed to gently gently blacken the coin.
So with the voltage set at 6 volts. Click image for larger version

This is what it looks like now.
Half an hour in the tumbler with water and vinegar is enough to remove most of the stain.
And most of those inevitable scratches that we always put on a coin.
FOO FOO JUICEwater in a spray bottle or not scratches will happen.
So why not get rid of them. Click image for larger version

Yes, that was really interesting. Thank you for sharing. And I had noticed that watch right away. It's amazing that you found that it was engraved!

Thanks Den. That inscription was not visible before it was cleaned.
