  • Some days are good. Some days you should just stay in bed.

I have been a little under the weather this week.
    Both literally and figuratively.
Monday was the start of a monster head cold.
On Tuesday an hour was all my head could take.
Then Wednesday rolled around and our drought is now officially over.
All day long this was the view. Click image for larger version

Thursday and Friday were a little better both weather wise and time without a pounding headache.
Each day saw me out there for an entire hour and a half.
Now today was no different time wise, an hour and a half was all it took to say uncle.
And this is one day when I should have stayed in bed.
Today's haul was pathetic. Click image for larger version

So why am I making a post?
Well it is not because of the fantastic amount of trash that was removed from the parks this week. Click image for larger version

However there were a couple of decent finds coming out of the ground. Click image for larger version

Friday produced both, the youngest silver this week. Click image for larger version

Does anyone here know why it might have been scored this way?
The scratches are intentional but the reasoning behind them are beyond me. Click image for larger version

That 1900 S Barber is in great shape. Barber dime with Lady Liberty Head.

BTW: Some may not know this BUT the Mercury dime is truly not a depiction of the winged god Mercury.
It is a different depiction of Liberty, with the advent of a delivery service (FTD) the winged "mercury" was called upon to be forever confused with the winged liberty dime.

That seated Liberty scored Huuum? looks almost like a target.
You sure find more than I do.
My last outing yielded some debris and one clad 2012 dime.

Lone Star Treasure Hunters is having a "seeded" competition hunt on Oct 28 wish you could attend.
Lots of fun and silver to boot.
It is a "Rock" when it's on the ground.
It is a "Specimen" when picked up and taken home.

Thanks for the correction Jess. I will blame it on the head cold. Or maybe old farts disease. 😉
One of these days Jess, I would truly enjoy getting to meet you.

Some good finds for feeling bad, you have to wonder about the persons mindset when they were marking quarters like the 1853 quarter.

I also wonder what the person was intending Johnny. 🤔

Hey Bruce, I would certainly call that a successful week. I like to see the Old silver even when it is defaced.

It definitely was successful despite my feeling under the weather.

Hope you're feeling better. Weather here is lovely & warm; an Indian Summer for sure. I live for days like this because it will be cold soon enough.

Thank you Deb. Fall has always been my favorite time of the year for the very same reason.
