  • Better coins and other things.

Boy oh boy this last 2 weeks has seen an unbelievable drop in silver production.
During the previous 4 weeks I was on track for hitting the 250 silver coin mark.
Well that has gone out the window.
These are all that the last 2 weeks has provided.
50 % is better than nothing. Click image for larger version

ID:	276993 This was a squeak squawk signal that I almost didn't dig.
I was out with Colin this day and had already dug more than 50 pennies at up to 7 inches deep.
But I am glad that I did.
The iron disk was dead centered above the half and around 3 inches shallower. Click image for larger version

However it was kissed by the digger. Click image for larger version

Even when it is really iffy silver.
I put this unmarked pendant through my litmus test.
I tumbled it in a vinegar and water solution for 12 hours.
That is normally more than enough to wear away normal plating.
So if this is not silver then it is the worlds best plating job. Click image for larger version

Thank you Johnny. I figured to beat you to the punch this time and point out the S because I like them too.

Thanks. Being that this one is still 100% in working order it just had to get posted.

Bruce - any idea how old that Ronson is? I'd be interested in finding that out. It doesn't look too worse for wear but finding it out in the elements makes me wonder how long it was exposed.

That 1897 dime is almost uncirculated, that is amazing for as old as it is.

Chuck, I have found some You Tube videos from 2010 about this lighter. It could date from then however it is probably a more recent loss. Click image for larger version

I was also disappointed by the lack of age but what the heck, it works.
