I am talking about the ones that have a little bit of mystery or a whole lot of history behind them.
Organized cross country racing has been around long before you and I.
And without a makers mark of any sort this will remain a mystery as to its age.
None the less, it is cool. The age of this one will also likely remain a mystery.
I know that at one time it was a pin. And after cleaning this up. I now know that it was likely issued to a civilian dockyard worker.
Was this civilian part of the war effort?
Were they male of female?
Was it WWI or possibly WWII?
There are those unexpected moments when you find something that you are ready to toss into the junk side of the pouch.
Most of us find modern pins.
And the moment that you see this you are ready to toss it. Most of the time it is something like this.
