That piece with the 53 is a license plate. Back then they decided that replacing the entire plate every year was to costly so for 3 or 4 years they made partial plates. You simply put this over top of the original plate to show that you were licensed for that year.
As to Oak Island, I would need to take acting classes. Because I just can't get that excited about finding a rusty hinge.

Enjoy your end of the continent. Another nor'easter is inbound. Yesterday the tides were running so high they over-topped the dunes. No hunting! Phewy!

Finally Saturday rolled around and I finished off the little park and headed out to another school yard to finish off the day.
The golden coloured ring is just costume but the rest is definitely silver.
The R lock is a Tiffany and company charm.

Wednesday was another one of those days.
But HEY, the fun is in the hunt.
Because if you are not looking you are definitely not finding. On Thursday I decided to try a park that I have never been to before.
The finds were nothing spectacular but it was a fun little park to do.
For those of you who love a challenge, here is a token to figure out.
It says "awarded for skills. property of machine".
Good for one free game.
Friday saw me back at that little park for some more play time.
The two nickles were in the same hole and boy was that a weird signal.

How was your week?
I guess that it is time for me to bite the bullet so to speak and write another long winded post.
This past week has had it's good days and it's better days.
I mean, how can you possibly have a bad day when you are out doing what you love.
I am going to continue showing all of the finds, good bad and otherwise.
For the simple reason that it gives reality to a post, rather than simply showing only the "treasure finds".
Day one of this post was last Saturday day, when I hit a local school yard. The better finds were nothing spectacular that day. On Sunday I was back at the same school, however I hit a different area this time. I have a feeling that this year will be the year of the almost gold.
The St. Christopher medallion is now the fourth gold filed item I have found this year. Monday, well lets just say that gas was covered and leave it at that. Tuesday was almost a total bust.
I hit four different places and the first three were absolutely filled with trash.
This is the result from the first place of the day. And the next two were no better. The end result after five
and a half hours looks rather dismal. Until you take a closer look at the second last target of the day. [Tags: None
