  • Can good things come in small packages?

On Tuesday Jamie aka Indy and I got together for a bit.
The area we chose was not the best producing that day, as there was a definite lack of what I consider diggable targets.
With the lack of my normal targets I started digging pull tab and foil targets for something to do.
I guess we were there for around two and a half to three hours before we each went our own ways.
Before we parted Jamie found this beauty. I just love the toning on this. Click image for larger version

ID:	293557 After leaving I headed off to check on the water level in the Gorge.
It was not quite right yet so I headed to a nearby park to kill an hour.
Once down on the beach my goal was to try and find the back half of the C P R lock.
    Unfortunately that did not happen.
None the less things were found at each location.
Here is the brick a brack from all three locations. Click image for larger version

It will go nicely into the bullet collection.

This was my best coin while out with Jamie.
And yes I was jealous of his nickel. Click image for larger version

After finding it I reburied it and called him over to listen to the sound.
We both agreed that it sounded like foil.
My best pics of it were taken on site. Click image for larger version

It is a button but certainly nothing like what I had hopped. Click image for larger version

The crotal bell is nowhere near as old as you folks back east find.
But it is still working and sounds sweet to me.

The pendant is beat all to hell, however it will add to the silver scrap pile just nicely.

Those two black discs were a bust.
This is what remains of an LC and an old wheatie.

I guess that they were not going to get much thinner than this before they completely rotted away.

I had hoped that the key would turn out to be a railroad key.
It is commercial/industrial, but does not have the same style that most had. https://www.google.ca/search?q=railr...w=1386&bih=936

However not as surprising as the whelk shell.
I find whelk shells on the beaches here all of the time. https://www.google.ca/search?q=Commo...ih=936#imgrc=_
But this is the first silver whelk shell that I have found.

Thank you Josh. The watch is only silver plated but it is a cool looking watch.

I agree Johnny. It is my favorite nickel design and I do wish that I had found it.
      Working...
