I'm going to go back to my old ways of posting several hunts rather than making a post for each hunt individually.
So if you guys and gals don't mind just sit back for a minute while I catch up.

The Saint Mary item is gold. I am calling it 8K.
It did not pass the 10K acid test so I put it in the tumbler with water and vinegar for 4 hours.
There was no removal of any plating what so ever. Click image for larger version

A quick rinse with water showed pitting but the gold is still there. Click image for larger version

I don't know how old this one is but the phone number is early.

Bruce, did you find the skeleton key next to the skull? The lockplate is kinda neat. What kind of coin is that 1886 one?

Amazed by the amount of coins you find great stuff! You sure find a lot of rifle cartridges. The tailwagers token is cool.

Coins and trash are everywhere and easy enough to find. That is what makes things like the Tailwaggers token special.

Okay I have to ask. With all those cartridges you find, many in parkland, are there shooters just blamming away up there? Just saying...

You make it sound like I am living somewhere in the US Deb.😉
Actually, the area I have been concentrating on was used for training during WWI. 90% of the cartridges are blank training rounds. They give off a similar response as military buttons, so I have to dig them if I want the better finds. By the way that skeleton key sounded identical to a practice round that was only one foot away.

Bruce you had two nice old Canadian nickels and your friend a nice V nickel, would his nickel clean up as well as your two old ones.

Unfortunately those V nickels do not clean up nicely at all Johnny. He was very fortunate to be able to see the date.

Thank you. Eric's coin is a US V nickel.
By the way those nickels are notorious for losing all of their detail in the ground.

90% of the time I am swinging my CTX. I use my Excal II whenever I am wading in deep water.

That’s very cool! I may get a new machine one of these days, but am not sure what to look for. For now I’m learning more on the whites XLT. Kicking it old school

Didn't know you detected, I have an E-Trac that I haven't used in ages. We'll have to hit a spot sometime.

Whenever I see your finds laid out there's always so much that I picture Magneto sucking all the metal objects out of the ground.

I love to detect mark.. been stringing together some finds. Maybe we could hit the fields sometime... there’s a group of guys who go... BUT. They can’t find em all

That looks like a nice chunk of change you dug, and a nice haul of trash. Have you ever found a cannon round or a grenade?

I would love to find either of those. I have friends back east who have found old cannon balls and grenades.
