  • Silver Spoon and Brass Lock

I'm not a detectorist but sometimes metal objects find their way into my pockets. I brought a few spoons home and one turned out to be coin silver and not plate. Gorham Co. mark... no idea on date but it's silver so I kept it.

The brass lock caught my eye due to the markings. National Recording Pump Company made gas pumps back in the day and are very desirable to collectors. The lock dates to the mid 1920's and was just too cool to leave out there.

That lock would be a prize in my collection. As to the spoon this might help https://www.925-1000.com/Gorham_Date_Code.html

In life there are losers and finders. Which one are you?

Thanks for the data Bruce. I have a buddy who collects locks but he wasn't interested because he only collects working locks. Too cool to pitch so it's on one of my shelves.

Two good finds, I usually bring my spoons home also but most of mine are not even silver plate.
