  • Wilmington Civil War round?

My friend found this in his back yard. I am posting the pics I have in hopes someone can assist with identifying it. The bullet is still in the casing. It's about 3 inches long. Thanks for your help.

I collect Civil War ammunition, so this is right up my alley. It is badly burned or something, so it's fairly hard to tell. This is too big to be Civil War period sadly. It looks gargantuan to be fired out of any gun. I'm not sure what it is.

IDK but I thought it was big enough to cut a horse in half !

Aircraft machine gun round is the closest match, but it still is odd.

I am sorry but I just don't see a bullet, no matter how I try.
