Just over one ounce of small nuggets and specimen pieces and one nice specimen piece that went 8.4 grams just over 1/4 oz. after a specific weight test ( weight in air then in water and do some math) i came up with 6.9 grams of gold and 1.5 grams of quartz plus or minus one or two tenths of a gram. All were found with a Minelab GPZ 7000.

Hey Bret, Those are some beautiful specimens. Here in the U.P. we have copper nuggets with quartz mix very similar.

Yes in some areas you can have ratios of 10 to 1 trash to gold and even up to 100 to 1 trash to gold mostly bullets and lead fragments but you would be suprised by how many boot tacks you find out there.

It is true what a buddy once told me a detector will only find dust if it is not used.

Very nice. My mom has a ring made from similar stones. Quartz and gold.
