  • When Time and Material is Limited

Well I haven't had a ton of time to post or do anything hobby related lately. But I have had some chances to to make some smaller points etc. I often gift my points as soon as I make them if I have company or just feel the urge. I went through the slabs Ron sent (I have one or two more to show from that batch when I get back home) and I am down to lots of smaller waste flakes, sometimes though I happen up on material in unexpected ways.... Ill start with a gift I made for a client whom I do lots of work for... I noticed she had a nice piece of Burlington hiding in her flower bed (one of Many) when i inquired about were she found the Rock , she imediatley told me to take it home if I liked it. So I did under the pretense that I would return her a piece of art. She happily agreed because she is an artist for a living. This is what i created for her... A few weeks later I had a napping session with my aspiring knapper Brother who is trying to hone his survival skills...

I made this and gifted it to him.

Hi Josh. You are doing some real fine work. I'm always partial to the real old point types but I like all that you made.

Nice knapping KY. Good ol Burl Chert...about 90% of my finds. Cool to see what they looked like right off the line a few thousand years ago. Darn nice work KY...

Thanks Baba, this Burlington I made the first four points came from a creek in MO. It was very good Stuff.

Hey Josh, That is some real nice work. I hope you can pick up more of the Burlington. I really like the color in that clovis point. Very nice.

Thanks Ron, The lady who gave me the Chert owns her old homestead on a creek back in Mo, she said next time she was there she would bring back all she could carry. The last Dalton and Clovis was made from heated keokuk that my brother had ordered. But in the meantime I will probably order some more or maybe something different.
