  • 4.25" Edwards Point

Texas has good rock. If you look close at the right side near the tip you will see that some Yooper copper has been added to the stone.

You have some great lithics where you are at. That is a cool point! I tried to make a chert point today, but it was very fat in the middle.

That’s it exactly man, you get better every time. It all comes down to practice practice practice ! Heck I still have a hard time thinning stuff out ABO style.

Hey Kentucky, The more I learn the more obvious it becomes that I have more to learn. Keep at it and have fun with it.

Thanks Josh, This one would make a good heavy spear point.

When I say "heavy spear" I mean hand held and not a dart thrown with the use of an atlatl.

Nice Job Ron! I'm liking this Edwards, should have something worth sharing soon. You did a good job in that face with it being nice and clear and free of small fingernail hinges. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Yes this Edwards chert is translucent where it is thin. The Root Beer chert is more translucent than this particular Edwards chert.
