The past few day's, I have been grinding some "artifakes". I call them that because I don't know what else to call them. Anyway, here they are! I have a gorget, a 4 in. knife, an axe (you have already seen that) and a hoe. All were ground with sandstone, filed, then sanded with 300 grit sandpaper. Not totally Native American, but it get's the job done! Still, it took me over three day's to make these. All of them are slate. I am going to take a break, because my hands are killing me! Novaculite, and Obsidian are in the mail, and I still have a few choices left, so I will start knapping regularly after Oct. 2. That is my birthday, and rocks are going to be my gifts. Shouldn't every kid want rocks for his birthday?
