  • Four different Lithics

    The three knife blades are Hornstone, Tallahatta Quartzite, and Buffalo River. The little triangle is Agatized Coral.

      Excellent, Ron! Great work! My favorite would have to be the Buffalo River Dalton. You actually just solved a mystery for me. I wondered what kind of lithic I kept finding in GA, and now I know its agatized coral.

        I found some of the chert, but I also found that coral for sure.

        Thanks Johnny, That second blade is a piece of the Tallahatta Quartzite you gave me. I did something a little different on this one. I kept the flaking course so you can see the flake scars.

        Thanks Red, That salmon color in the agatized coral is neat. As I was knapping the triangle I was concerned that I might knap all of that color off.

              Ron you should take a pic of your work station . I have seen the flakes . Even if it’s a good old stump in the yard , or some stainless steel workstation .
