Recently when we skinned a couple of hogs I kept some hide raw. I cut a narrow strap for the light weight knife and a wide strap for the heavy knife. Not sure which I like the best. I left the rawhide natural with no color added.

Ron I like them both ! The small strips match the flaking
(smaller ) on that knife . Then I like the large rawhide on the larger pice . The scale really compliments it .
It feels great to grasp that hide doesn’t it .. good feel .
Wayne ground an antler down on the top for grip and same effect .
