I am 100% with you on notch hating. Just a pain in the butt. That is a very good blade. The color looks great too. I could just imagine that thing sitting on the edge of a spear, about to be thrust in panic as a Smilodon lunges toward the mammoth hunter...

To show flake pattern, go outside and hold it up to the sun to create shadows from the flakes on the piece. Then take the photo without flash. Flash kills a lot of detail.

I have to take some pics of the sun here, because since early November it has been raining, snowing, and has just been plain cloudy. I can easily see myself moving to the Carolina's or Georgia when I get older. Sand, Sun and Gators! Nothing better!

      thank you

i do make my own self bows and arrows, but sadly i cant hunt with stone tips here in mn
law is very clear about it.it states "all broad head must have at least two metal cutting edges and be of barbless design"

i have made some hunting arrows and used mass produces metal heads on them.

i have lots of friends in Tn,Ky,Ga,Tx etc that take lots of game with all home made primitive gear.

That is beautiful work Tim. I totally agree with putting it in your keeper display Tim.
It would be a shame to cover up the symmetry by hafting it.

thanks Tam. i call it that because of all the blood that gets shed in it lol

after a few years of experience knapping a point does become some what quick
but on average a point or blade still takes me about an hour to make something that looks good
i can make a crude but useful point in about 15 minutes

i knew a gut(he passed away a few years back) by the name of Phil Churchill who could knock out a danish dagger in just over an hour
most folks spend a couple of days to make those, but Phil had made so many it was second nature to him
he even sold and shipped a lot of them to Denmark, they were that dang authentic looking the folks over there just had to have them
