    I had a Buckskin Pedernales plate that had a thin layer of good chert in the center. I finally got down to the good chert after knapping away a lot of chalk and off white chert. The remaining biface was only about ten percent of the rock I started with. The finished blade is 3" long and 2.5" wide.
