  • Four Different Lithics

    The lithic materials are Banded Obsidian, Quartzite, Buckskin, and Root Beer.
    Gary gave me that beautiful Quartzite: The point is kinda heavy: Next will be thinner.

      Really nice ! I was wondering what a point of yours would look like out of that tough quartzite we find as hammerstones in our area .

        Thanks Tamara, It is hard to knap. Have to crush it into shape. It doesn't really flake like chert does.

        Boy, Ron, ain't that the truth. It has to be some high grade quartzite to make it flake.

          Man, Ron, I can just feel the frustration in that quartzite piece. It is a challenge to knap that stuff. Got a nice point out of it though.
          That buckskin nodena is a very handsome little devil.
