Pigeon blood

Picked up a killer point made of pigeon blood agate from a great knapper and made a not so pretty but functional point myself from glass buttes obsidian. Thanks for the look

It’s all good, the agate point is outstanding... Will you explain why the material is called pigeon blood agate ?

This piece doesn’t show it well but the material can have blood red specks and streaks all throughout.

It is agate from Montana. It’s amazingly transparent
