  • 3½ inch Raw CPC Point

    Johnny gave me a very large rock of Coastal Plain Chert. I knocked off a nice spall and Knapped this 3 1/2 inch point from the raw stone. I have a lot more of this rock. I will probably heat treat some spalls which will make the stone easier to knap and probably add some color.

      Nice Ron I was wondering how Rock could be..raw. now that you explained heat treated rock is not raw it makes sense. Cuz I knew rock dont ripen ...ha

          That coastal plains chert is so varied Ron, I think that you could finish the whole chunk and not have 2 similar points. 👏👏👏

            I like it too! Nicely done symmetry. Very nice color raw. I would like to see how the fired pieces look!
