Is this the same stuff the Scarab beetle in Tutankhamen’s death mask was made of??

Thanks Ron...I was a litttle confused, thought it was a death mask, but it was indeed a pendent.
I watched a special on the history channel about it a while back.

Looked the material up and found it is impact formed. Some on e-bay but not cheap. That's a real gem.

Yes, I have an average specimen in my meteorite collection. Although it is not a meteorite. Within the context of this thread, I included both a photo of my piece, and the remarkable piece found amid the treasures of King Tut. And BTW, some LDG was indeed fashioned into tools in prehistoric times:

Might seem a bit inscrutable if you're not up on planetary geology. Bottom line is the rock appears to predate the formation of our solar system, making it

Hey JJ, I hope both will heal fast and well. I just returned home from a Doctor visit. I took a bad fall three weeks ago and cracked a rib. Five days ago I spilled boiling water on my foot.

Geez, Ron, I hope your luck improves! A broken rib is miserable. Take care of yourself. That’s a pretty point!
