  • WY Tiger Chert

    This is raw chert. I cooked some tiger chert too high and it came out of the kiln very brittle. If you cook this rock take the temp no higher than 450F.

            Daylight pictures would be helpful. The stripes show up on Tiger Chert when it gets a patina. I'll post a few rocks to show the natural patina.

            Many times the ancient patina is orange.

              The actual rock is a chocolate brown but the patina varies some.
