  • Hornstone & Obsidian Points

    The Hornstone Point is one of my favorites.
    It has a near perfect lenticular cross section.
    Both points are 3.5 inches long.

    Nice work Ron i like corner notched points but of those two i think the Conerly style point would be my favorite.

      It's neat to see the Hornstone next to the Obsidian. The Hornstone has a bluish hue to it. Nice job Ron!

        Nice looking points. I'm not a knapper so forgive my ignorance with this question. Are some lithics "harder" than others? For example the density of oak is 82 but chestnut is only 42 making chestnut much easier to work...can the same be said about flint/chert? Hope that makes sense....

          Hey Chris, You're right: Some rocks are very difficult to knap and some are easy. Both of these are easy.
