Finally got around to hafting a Horse Creek Churt Arrowhead (the raw material came from Glacial Pebble). The deer leg sinew came from a local hunter friend of mine. The pine pitch tar came from a tree job I did locally. I mixed ground up charcoal from my fire pit in the pitch. The wild turkey feather came from Up North (thanks bro) and the white turkey feathers came from the side of the road. The shaft was made from an Eastern Red cedar sapling taken from my own yard.

Very very nice job. How did u get the middle of the feathers to stay in place. I'd guess with the tar, but I don't see any stains of it.

The tar dried so quickly, that I couldn't use it directly under the feathers. I used a little wood glue, but I hope to create a liquid adhesive from animal skins, for future builds, that would be more historically accurate. I had some feathers catch fire when I was trying to figure it out. 😬 -
Oh yeah, and a couple of other places where I cheated was the cotton string used on the fletching is kite string. I also used a pocket knife and sand paper to carve and smooth out the shaft. Sometime I hope to make a complete arrow with all abo tools. 😁
