These are other common risk factors for acid reflux disease:
Eating large meals or lying down right after a meal
    Being overweight or obese
Eating a heavy meal and lying on your back or bending over at the waist
    Snacking close to bedtime
Eating certain foods, such as citrus, tomato, chocolate, mint, garlic, onions, or spicy or fatty foods
Drinking certain beverages, such as alcohol, carbonated drinks, coffee, or tea
    Smoking
    Being pregnant
Taking aspirin, ibuprofen, certain muscle relaxers, or blood pressure medications
    No wonder :dunno:

And it can be fatal if left untreated, a reality that I've been learning the hard way.... it was a major contributing factor in my uncle developing throat cancer. He's been in a coma since last Thursday, unassisted comma since Monday, and the doctors don't expect him to make it through today. Really makes you 're think all those UN healthy lifestyle choices. Acid reflux is serious stuff.

I'm with you Josh, I like spicy food.
I also drink way to much pop,  and eat to much greasy food. Hard lifestyle to change. I also don't help anything with a 12-16oz red bull every morning...

Ahh , finally a topic I can feel pretty sure I'm an expert on! Your correct with all your triggers Josh. But their is one thing you may want to do, go get a blood test. There is a bacteria known as H. pylori that will overgrow in certain individuals stomach. This bacteria is the key factor to developing stomach ulcers and persistent symptoms resistant to treatment. It is curable with a 2 week run of antibiotics and antacids, but you won't know if you have it or need the treatment without getting tested first. I have seen a number of long time sufferers get cured.
