      Josh,
For what it's worth I didn't understand your post either and thought you were bashing the AACA.
Good example of how communications on forums can get sideways fast.

Under impression you must be aaca member to authentic n.a. artifacts legally. Maybe i am misunderstanding that? It seems easy for people to get confused.

Well if they would just read the authenticators topic posted a few days ago.   Inserted link to try and help folks comprehend my title. Thanks though!

You are reading what Chase wrote wrong or Chase wrote it in a way that leads you to that conclusion.
The AACA has nothing to do with authenticators or authenticating. They do have a policy that once you become a member you agree to the rules outlining sales and returns of artifacts. That's it.

I always thought it was an organization whose members agreed to not knowingly sell fakes and repros. So a lot of eBay sellers belong to the AACA in order to instill confidence in potential customers. Meteorite dealers/collectors also formed such a group to instill confidence on eBay. Careful, though. Once you are an authenticator, if that's your final goal, other collectors, like me, should you get one wrong, are then allowed to tar and feather you. And then we're allowed to run you out of town on a rail.
Just so I am not a victim of "internetitis", I was just joking in general with you, and not saying that was my attitude on authenticators. I just thought it was about time I tarred and feathered someone and you were there :rolf:    :dunno:
