I can't believe all the critters crawling all over and in that nest! A lot of the meat they bring to the nest is roadkill and dead fish. They've brought fish carcasses rotten with maggots to the nest. Parents are careful to feed small pieces to prevent choking. In years past some chicks have died by choking on bones or big pieces...in one case was saved by a parent pulling it out of their mouth. I keep checking to see if the babies have taken flight. Any minute for sure!!!Professor Shellman
