  • Alien lifeform in my firepit

    I'm not exactly what you would call a city slicker, I have spent my fair share of time outdoors, but here is something that I don't think I have ever noticed before. This is from the fire pit at my lease. I had a campfire there about two weeks before the photo, and I only burn wood and leaves, no trash. Anyone have any idea what that bright orange growth is?

    It looks like an orange slime mold to me.

        Yes, it's a fungal life form that once it dries will put out spores & turn to dust. Careful-/ don't inhale the dust if you decide to poke at it!

          CTex - I think you should post it on FaceBook and sit back and watch the Alien Conspiracy Theorists go wild. Definitely a noticeable orange, Huh.
