      OOOOOps Sorry Greg, I guess you ain't from 'round here! That stick toy with the propeller on it is called a Gee Haw Whimmydiddle, them folks in Tennessee call them Hooey Sticks. Rub it with the other stick and call out Gee, propeller turns right, call out Haw, propeller turns left. Old timey Appalachain mountain toy !

      Gotta know the secret to how to make 'em Gee and then Haw, it's all the index finger.  The ripples make linear motion change to circular motion.  If I told you the secret I have to kill ya, LOL.  (it's probably on YouTube, hahaha!)   Msde out of Rhododendron sticks, most have no metal parts, except some put a metal tack for the propeller shaft.  I "larned" to make them when I lived in SC and have made a few dozen, but not in over 25 years or so.  Takes only a few minutes to whittle one. the only harder part is the propeller.

        OK, I've never heard of such "spinning sticks" and TC.....that, is one awesome ear ring!!!.....my daughter would LOVE one like that!!
