  • Life and death, resting in the barrel of a musket

I should have posted this weeks ago, but I won't be doing the huge post like I was originally going to. I'll save that for next year. However, here are some of my relics from Gettysburg.

This fired bullet was found in 2005, along the Fairfield road in Gettysburg. The bullets location, lies where the 24th Michigan attacked remnants of A.P. Hill's command on the first day.

This bullet was picked up by a Union soldier named Mcpherson after the battle of Little Roundtop. The bullet most likely came from the position of the 20th Maine infantry.

This bullet hit a rock on July 3rd, on Culps Hill. It is a Union style bullet, but the fighting was so entangled on the hill, it is impossible to attach it to a specific regiment.
