  • Westerns

I’ve been watching lotsa TV lately. I do love Westerns (horses and cowboys, how much better can it get!) and have seen “Westward, The Women” aired twice in one week. Why? Because it’s about American spirit in the face of fairly horrible adversity. This is not a girly Western, guys.

Just saw a good one today where a bunch of ladies held off an apache attack at an old mission with Audie Murphy on GRIT called petticoat fort or something similar

I enjoy the old, old Westerns on there, Red. Very early in some cases.

It's funny how you can tell how old they are by the size of the cowboy hats....the bigger the hat the older the western is

Hi Cecilia. I've never seen that movie but I think I remember the title. I think it was made before my time and I go back a long time. I'll try to check it out if it ever comes up on a Direct TV channel. The best western "movie" ever made was the TV series "Lonesome Dove". And since it went for several episodes, it can entertain you for a long time. An epic production with a large cast of notable actors. Based on a Larry McMurtry book that stayed pretty close to how the book was written. I've seen it since it first came out and I loved it as much or more the 2nd time. As for made for theater movies, I really liked The Unforgiven. It is a toss up between that one and "The Revenant" as to which would be my favorite.

It is black and white! And made before I was born.
