  • Digital camera question

I am sure this question has been asked on the forum before. What is your recommendation on a decent but affordable camera that takes good close-up pictures? I know that the term "decent but affordable" may be an oxymoron, like military intelligence, and that affordable is a subjective concept depending on one's income, but I need to take some pictures and have a very limited budget. Thanks

Cannon Power Shot ELPH 100 HS works great, for around $100.00. B)

Kodak makes some for around 80 bucks I have seen good pictures from.
Go to the store and ask if you can try one out in your price range. Then just ask them to show you how to set the macro to on. Pull out a dollar bill and shoot just the edge of it and then look at it in the view finder. These two were shot with my old SOny it is 6 years old. Not bad picture for shooting off hand. If you find a camera that can do this then it should suit your needs in close ups.

These were taken just now off hand with no special lighting if I could have set up the tripod for a steadier shoot and some better lighting I could do better.

        Some previous advice here:

I keep six honest serving-men (they taught me all I knew); Their names are What and Why and When and How and Where and Who.
