  • Archery elk

Archery season started september second. First two weeks of the season was 91 degrees or better... that all changed thursday. The weather change triggered the elk rut. I went out friday evening and called this bull in. Nice 6x6. Spent all day yesterday getting it out. Had a couple good friends and my brother to help.

    congrats on a nice bull

our archery deer season started yesterday
went out today to find a spot for my climber stand and sat in the tree for a couple of hours with out my bow.just doing a little scouting and r/r time
i deer take the first couple of weeks of bow season all that serious,i use it as time to scout for fall turkey which is all of next month
on the way out i found a kill site where i am assuming it was a yote that killed a wild turkey, feathers all over and a couple of bones.
at least i know the turkeys are using that spot, along with the yotes

it doesnt matter what i am hunting,if i see a yote it becomes a yote hunt

once again, congrats on a great bull

Hey Chad, Yes I drove 8,023 miles in 17 days. It was quite a road trip. Montana is awesome. Glacier National Park has the best scenery I have seen.

I've heard elk meat makes an awesome stew. Nearest elk from me is far western NC. My neighbor is going moose hunting in ME & promised me some meat. Nice shot!

Yep. Good memory. I am still, but have had to cut back. Got one yesterday. Nothing big but he was completely tickled.

Yep!!! We had burgers thursday and steak yesterday. I' m full!!! Its awesome.. was a little worried, as bigger bulls can get quite rough to eat. Stop by and ill grill you a steak...

If your meat gets tough just process into hamburger .
add some wild boar fat or have your processor do it for you .
best stews and chili EVER .. or get some sausage seasoning
              and make patties
