  • Rappahannock Sunset

Wing Night yesterday evening at our favorite riverfront restaurant 'Willaby's'. The sun was setting over the river and I captured this photo on my iPhone. The Rappahannock is my favorite river. Here the river is almost two miles across as it approaches the Chesapeake Bay a couple of miles downstream.

Absolutely beautiful sunset and what better setting for dinner. I remember the wife and I taking the river boat out of Baltimore out to the Chesapeake Bay at sunset and on moonlite cruises. What a view. Thanks for the memories, Deb.

This restaurant is shaped like an old riverboat minus the paddle wheel. Nice ambiance inside & no seasickness on windy days. ๐Ÿ˜‰

That is absolutely beautiful!!! ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณYou know, the only thing I love more than a beautiful sunrise is a beautiful sunset, and the closer to the water, the better.

here's one from my back yard. :-)

and a sunrise from a place a often stop on my way in to work.

As I recall as a child growing up in CA, the western sunsets are beyond description.

Also...I think sometimes y'all make up words to prank us simple southern folk. That name of the place...Rappahannock, and some of the names of points like the squidrocket triangle, and some of the others...I try about five times to pronounce it, Shake my head, and laugh.

Native American names were often poorly understood by Anglo colonists who put their own twists on the pronunciations. Try Werewocomico for example. ๐Ÿ˜„

Jethro - Deb's right about the NA names but them New Englander's have some real tongue-tiers, which are probably NA as well.

You know how everyone makes a big deal out of Hawaii
for sunsets . Well Debs pic there at her favorite dining place smokes any here .
So do the other ones . When we were on our last hunt trip and sorry no we didnโ€™t have a pic the sunset was on fire .
we actually for 3 seconds stoped to smell smoke .
it looked like it A fire !
Bright red then changed in 10 min to a lavender and yellow
              Whattt.
