A major blizzard is coming tomorrow with up to 70 mph winds and 8-12 more inches of snow, but could get freezing rain first, which will bring down the REA poles. Click image for larger version

They came down from Canada. They are a German folk. Speak low German. They pretty much stay to themselves and have these colonies.

Wow and blizzard yet to come. Tomorrow we hit sixties here for the first time since fall. Those North winds are a ________! Stay dry, stay warm and make sure the generator is full of gas and ready.

Looking at your pictures I can't help but imagine how harsh the winters were on the Native American's. Great pictures! I have access to a heated swimming pool with a basketball goal in Aberdeen if you need a getaway. Our group used to hunt a Hutterite colony that specializes in marble such as table tops. They had marble from all over the world was amazed by their kindness. Stay warm just a few more months till spring!

I don’t know how they survived. I’m sure many didn’t.

Man ! Wow! I’m here to tell ya I couldn’t take it...Looks like your deer friends have a established relationship with you.
The Canadian geese are moving out, prolly holding up in mid country. Sandhill cranes are moving too. Some of our trees budded out but got kilt last week in a cold snap. My pecan tree will tell me when the freezes are over here. The Granny Smith apple tree nearly got busted, prolly will lose that fruit. I’ve heard of people shoveling snow from roofs, now I’ve seen a pic of it.. I know your tired of winter, So is everyone else. When it’s finally done I think this site will be blasted with incredible finds, from the water washing artifacts out ! Hang in there , y’all some tough people !

Those 5-6 deer come every night for their corn. The honkers are usually here by now, but they’re probably hiding out down south.

Power went out at 4 am, but came back on. I know others don’t have power yet. The wind is really blowing. No travel advised since all the roads are plugged. I think they might be trying to keep the state highway open but not sure about that. They told everyone to stay home , but if I get a calving call I will have to go. That’s what is tough, with all the new baby calves.

I can't even imagine that much snow. The "honkers" are still hanging out at our pond . Stay safe and warm!
