  • A hairy elephant

Earlier this year I was driving between cities in India, and ended up getting very close to an elephant. He was painted for a wedding celebration, and walking with his handler to the festivities.

I just thought this was a cool picture.

India? I guess you work overseas. Great pictures, but watch them monkeys! I've seen Americas Funniest Home Videos too much to trust Asian simians.

Yes, I moved the the family from Florida to Hong Kong a couple of years back. It's been an interesting experience for the kids. My daughter will be headed back to college in Indiana or Kentucky next fall, and my son is a sophomore so a couple more years for him.

Yes, these were at a temple and a used to being fed. So as long as you feed them and then get back into the car while they are distracted you are fine. (If you take pictures and no one is feeding them they will take your phone/camera, or go for your bag.)

About 10 seconds before the picture of the cute baby monkey I bribed his momma with a piece of papaya.

The monkeys in Hong Kong will mess you up. As I nearly learned the hard way, don't even make eye contact with them...

They are cute in the trees if you are out walking at a park.

But if they see you at eye level they get angry. I took this picture of a monkey on a Buddha statue. A few heads away from me.

A picture my son took a second later, the monkey had closed the gap and took a swing at me.

.I see you've learned not to trust the monkeys Clovis. Here's another animal precaution - never stand too close to a elephant if you're holding cotton candy!

You know how you called it hairy . In Africa they take the elephant hair and make bracelets out of them . 3 for 25 cents a million years ago . Then the fancy ones have gold on them . I know you have seen them .
                  love that elephant .

The elephant is cool but you can keep those durn monkeys. I’m no fan of any monkey! 😠
