  • Maddies success.

Last weekend was the opener for speed goats. Maddie connected on a nice doe. Dirtwalker went with us. We walked a long ways that day and poor ol dad had to drag it a couple miles. It was so dry that you didnt dare drive. (This morning we have a couple inches of snow and it's still snowing...)
Last night was the last day of the youth 2 day hunt. We didnt go at all the first day as maddie turned 13 that day. Just before dark she got this nice 8 point. Kinda a birthday buck. Snow started about an hour later.

That is some beautiful country and even more beautiful family.
Theres so much grass there its good thing you have a “muzzle break/fire suppressor” on that fine looking“shooting iron”.
Is that a “winchester“ VCHR rifle? What caliber? 10 to 1 twisting barrel?
I would like to have one exactly like in a .308

The rifle is a rock river arms, in .223/.556. I believe 1 in 9 twist. It's called the "coyote carbine" and it's what I bought it for... it shoots so light and has an adjustable stock so its great for my kids and they love it. (Maddies deer was 328 yards).... .
Fantastic trigger, and I pretty much shoot it exclusively. Vortex viper 2-10, zeroed at 200... I can comfortably shoot to 700 without touching the dials..

        Ill look them up.
I Shoot lots of 223 and 22-250 ammo. It use to be affordable to shoot 20-300 rounds a day. I love to hear that “whack” at the same time as the “boom”
